For the past several years Home Energy and the SLVFD have joined forces to deliver Santa Claus, escorted by a convoy of lighted fire trucks. Area fire departments compete for the best decorated truck. The 2018 title is currently being defended by the Duane Volunteer Fire Department. (See video/slide show below for 2018 parade)

This year “Downtown Saranac Lake” is joining forces with area organizations to make the night very special. In conjunction with the best "fire truck" award presented by Dan Rielly, the Mayor of Saranac Lake will present the “Mayors Cup” for the best decorated entrant from the business community. Businesses and organizations will be joining the parade, Entrants so far include, Hyde Fuel, Saint Josephs Rehabilitation Center, The Adirondack Regional Airport, The Village of Saranac Lake, and some other businesses have expressed an interest.

We hope to see everyone out to welcome Santa Claus to Saranac Lake and kick off the Holiday Season.

“Santa's Lighted Fire Truck Parade + Downtown Tree Lighting + Visit with Santa at the Saranac Lake Library = 3 great activities in 1 great night, Light Up Saranac Lake!

Plus, cookies to snack on provided by Blue Moon Cafe and Saranac Lake Kiwanis Club, and hot cocoa to keep you warm thanks to Adirondack Health.

6:00-6:15pm
Gather as area fire departments convene in Saranac Lake: decorated in bright lights, decorations, accompanied by classic Christmas songs, and escorting a very special guest - Santa!

6:15-6:45pm
Then join us as Santa lights the Christmas tree in Berkeley Green! And partake in a festive holiday sing-a-long led by Northern Lights Choir.

7:00-9:00pm
Following the parade Santa will be at the Saranac Lake Library Cantwell room where kids are welcome to visit with him! Tell Santa your wish-list and snap a photo. “
