Yesterday the SLVFD was one of the many organizations supporting the "Bloomingdale Block Party" In our little corner of the field we set up a static display of our forestry truck aka "Miscellaneous-148" an information table with some SLVFD frisbee's and kids fire hats, as well as some fire safety literature. We also set up our little house that we also stage with a fire hose and let the children try their luck at squirting the fire hose through the windows of the house.

SLVFD members attended the event between the hours of 11:00am and 5:00pm. During those six hours several SLVFD members responded back to the village for 3 separate fire calls.

Our favorite part of course was just enjoying the day, visiting with folks, and enjoying great food, especially from our brothers and sisters at the Bloomingdale VFD and enjoying the entertainment provided by "Frankie and the Moonlighters".
