In an effort to introduce the community to our members, we will periodically spotlight a different member. It is our privilege to introduce Jeff White.
Jeff graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and attended North Country Community College here in Saranac Lake. He has been volunteering with the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department for two years.
Prior to joining the SLVFD he was a member of the Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company for 4 years and a member of Malta Ambulance for 3 years. He was the Junior Corps Assistant Captain for 2 of those 3 years.
Jeff has completed the New York State Firefighter I course, and has taken FEMA Incident Command System courses 100, 200, 700, and 800. He is trained in Wilderness Fire Suppression and Wilderness First Response. Jeff is currently an AEMT-Intermediate and associated with the Fire Police. His future training plans include AEMT-Critical Care and the New York State Accident Victim Extrication Course. Jeff aspires to become a Fire Officer.
When Jeff isn't around the fire house supporting the fire and emergency calls we receive, he is attending classes, working for Adirondack ARC, and he also works as a driver for the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service.
