It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of "Smokey" Smokey was the 6th documented Dalmatian to serve as the SLVFD's official mascot.

Smokey began her tour with the SLVFD on Christmas day of 2008 when she was obtained from the same breeder in Poughkeepsie NY who bred the previous "Smokey 5"

Smokey lived primarily at the firehouse and served as a great friend to all the members and made many public appearances in parades, events, and children's fire prevention classes.

This particular Smokey gained international attention on October 3rd 2009, when she was featured on Animal Planets "Dogs 101" That episode is linked below for all who wish to view it.

Smokey will be missed by the members, her community, and the occasional traveling visitor who would stop in just to meet the famous Dalmatian featured on Dogs 101.
